A closer view during an examination
An intraoral camera can capture enlarged images of selected teeth, gums, and restorations. These images may supplement the clinical examination and create a visual record for monitoring or discussion.
Supporting communication
When an image is useful, the clinician can show the area being discussed and explain how it relates to findings or possible next steps. Camera images do not replace diagnostic imaging, examination, or professional judgment.
Use depends on the situation
Not every visit or condition requires an intraoral photograph. The clinician determines when an image adds useful information.
