TRIOS 5 Intraoral Scanning

Digital scanning technology used to create three-dimensional records of teeth and oral structures when appropriate.

A digital alternative for selected records

TRIOS 5 is an intraoral scanner that captures a series of images for software to combine into a three-dimensional representation of teeth and nearby structures.

How a scan may be used

Depending on the treatment and clinical need, digital scans may support restorative design, implant-restoration planning, orthodontic records, communication with a dental laboratory, or discussion of findings with a patient.

The scanner does not replace every examination, diagnostic image, or conventional impression. The clinician determines which records are appropriate for an individual case.

Technology in context

Digital records can support planning and communication, but they do not guarantee treatment outcomes. Ask the practice how scanning may apply to a particular visit or treatment plan.
